Q: How is this different from just setting up a search on SAM.gov?
A: SAM.gov searches can be cumbersome and limited. SAMClerk offers a more powerful, two-step filtering system: first by your core industry (NAICS codes), and then by your specific expertise (keywords). You can also easily manage and favorite opportunities on our site, creating a streamlined workflow from discovery to bid preparation.
Q: Do I still need my SAM.gov account?
A: Yes, absolutely. SAM.gov is the official U.S. government system for contracting. SAMClerk is a powerful search and alert tool that links you back to SAM.gov for the official solicitation details, forms, and submission process. We help you find the opportunity; SAM.gov is where you act on it.
Pricing & Accounts
Q: Do you offer a free trial?
A: Our annual service is priced so aggressively to provide immediate value, that offering a functional free trial is not currently feasible. We are confident our affordable price point is a low-risk investment in growing your government contracting business.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Due to the nature of our instantly accessible digital service, we do not offer prorated refunds after signup. However, you retain full access to the platform and all alerts for the duration of your annual subscription.
Q: Can I have multiple users under one account?
A: Currently, each subscription is tied to a single login and user profile. The alert preferences (NAICS, keywords, email, SMS) are managed by the account holder. For team access, please contact us at support@samclerk.com to discuss options.
Getting Started & Setup
Q: What is a UEI, and should I provide it?
A: A Unique Entity ID (UEI) is your business's official identifier in SAM.gov. Providing it during signup is a "Pro Tip" — it allows us to instantly and accurately import the NAICS codes already registered to your business in SAM.gov, speeding up your setup.
Q: How do the NAICS and Keyword filters work together?
A: Our filtering is a powerful, cumulative two-step process:
1.
Step 1 - NAICS: We find all new opportunities posted under any of the NAICS codes on your list.
2.
Step 2 - Keywords: We then filter that specific list from Step 1 to only include opportunities that also contain any of your custom keywords or phrases.
This ensures you get highly relevant matches specific to your niche within your industry.
Q: Can I increase the number of NAICS codes or keywords I can track?
A: Our standard plan allows tracking of up to 50 NAICS codes and 50 lines of keywords/phrases, which is sufficient for most businesses. If you have a specific need for a higher limit, please email us at support@samclerk.com to discuss your requirements.
Q: I'm new to government contracting and don't have a SAM.gov profile yet. Can I still use SAMClerk?
A: Yes! While providing a UEI speeds up NAICS selection, it is not required. You can manually search for and select the NAICS codes that best represent your business services directly on our NAICS page.
Using the Platform & Alerts
Q: When and how often will I receive alerts?
A: We scan SAM.gov daily. You will receive one consolidated "Opportunity Alert" email (and/or SMS, if enabled) each business day containing all matches from the previous day's postings.
Q: What appears in my daily alert email?
A: Your email contains a summary of matched opportunities found with a link to view more details on the SAMClerk site.
Q: What is the difference between "Alerts" and "Favorites" on the site?
A: "Alerts" is your history of daily notification emails. Clicking on a past alert date shows you the list of opportunities you received that day. "Favorites" is your personal shortlist — a cross-reference of all opportunities, from any day, that you have clicked the heart icon (❤) on. Use Favorites to track opportunities you are actively pursuing.
Q: Can I change my notification preferences (email, SMS)?
A: Yes. Click on the Profile link. There you can update your email address, mobile phone number for SMS, and choose your preferred alert methods.
Account Management
Q: How do I change my password?
A: Simply click on the Profile link, enter your new password in the designated field at the bottom of the page, confirm it, and click Save.
Q: I'm not getting alerts. What should I check?
A: First, check your Profile to ensure your email/phone is correct and notifications are enabled.
Second, check your NAICS Codes and Keywords pages to confirm they are set up.
Finally, check your email spam/junk folder and ensure alerts@samclerk.com is on your safe sender list.
