(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. UPDATE: On 9/8/2020, this Solicitation has been re-opened, and bids are now due on 9/17/2020 at 11 AM est. (ii) Solicitation #: 34300020Q0026 The purpose of this Request for Quotation (RFQ) is to increase the computational efficiency of the gravity model for the United States International Trade Commission (USITC or Commission). The gravity model is currently estimated at the Commission using the GME Python package developed by the Commission staff. This project will analyze the computing performance of the gravity model and identify software and hardware computational bottlenecks (components that limit the performance of the code). It will then provide solutions that increase the computing efficiency and decrease compute times of the gravity model.
