Green Village Cottages and Site Improvements Smithsonian Environmental Research Center This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the Smithsonian Institution (SI) hereinafter referred to as the "Smithsonian", in order to obtain the services of a Design-Build Contractor, also referred to as Offeror or Contractor, who shall be singularly responsible to satisfy the terms of the resulting contract. This contract will provide Design-Build services for the design and construction of two (2) to six (6) Cottages and construction of previously designed site infrastructure improvements at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, 647 Contees Wharf Road, Edgewater, MD 21037, as described herein and in the Part 2 General Requirements and all Attachments. The contract will be a Firm Fixed-Price Contract as specified under FAR Subpart 16.2. The contractor for this project will be competitively chosen using Source Selection procedures in accordance with FAR Subpart 15. SI will evaluate all responses using the criteria stated herein. All of the requirements that the successful Offeror must meet concerning this project are set forth in detail in the Solicitation Documents included with this Request for Proposal. Upon the receipt of Cost and Schedule Proposals and the selection of a successful Offeror, the Smithsonian Institution will execute a Design/Build construction contract. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is intended to provide all Offerors with sufficient information to enable them to prepare and submit offers for cost and schedule review and consideration by the Smithsonian Institution.
