Request for Information (RFI) Direct Thermal Top-Coated Die-Cut Fan-Folded Labels Direct Thermal Top-Coated Continuous Pressure Sensitive Label rolls Provision A-2: Solicitation for Information or Planning Purposes (March 2006) a. The Postal Service does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to pay for the information solicited. b. This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: The United States Postal Service (USPS) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) as an effort to initiate market research and communication with the direct thermal pressure sensitive label manufacturing industry in order to assess market potential. No solicitation document exists at this time. QUESTION AND INQUIRIES DEADLINE: Please submit any questions or comments directly related to this RFI via email to Paige Farkas Contracting Officer, at paige.a.farkas2@usps.gov by no later than 1:00 PM, Mountain Time (Denver), Monday, July 11, 2022. USPS would like interested vendors to provide the following information in this format: (1) Cover Page to Include: * Full Company name and address; * Point of Contact name and contact information; * Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S® Number; * Business Size Status under NAICS Code 322220, Paper Bag and Coated and Treated Paper Manufacturing (Gummed paper products [e.g., labels, sheets, tapes] made from purchased paper); * List if Small Business designation, Minority Business, and/or Woman Owned Business; * Company website address. The cover page is separate from, and not included in, the ten (10) page white paper allotment. (2) Provide a white paper (allotment), in MS Word format, not to exceed ten (10) pages, which addresses capabilities and expertise with manufacturing custom made direct thermal pressure sensitive labels with white medium sensitivity top-coated face stock materials for the below listed bullet points: * Manufacturing capabilities for Direct Thermal Top-Coated Die-Cut Fan-Folded Labels (blank); * Manufacturing capabilities for Direct Thermal Top-Coated Die-Cut Fan-Folded Labels that are pre-printed with a small color image; * Manufacturing capabilities for Direct Thermal Top-Coated Continuous Pressure Sensitive Label rolls; * List all the various types of permanent pressure-sensitive adhesives offered that will affix to various postal substrates; * In-house abilities to mix, analyze adhesive formulations, and perform test to specific TAPPI Test Methods (Peel Strength or Release from Liner); * Experience with Taggant Printing; * Experience with Non -Glue and Glue Zones; * Experience with a liners Black Timing Marks that aligns with edge of the labels glue zones; * Define Quality Assurance / management systems comply with ANSI/ISP/ASQ 9001; * List EcoLabels that offered by your organization for direct thermal pressure sensitive labels. RFI SUBMISSION DUE DATE AND TIME: Interested Vendor responses are to be submitted and accepted only electronically via email that is sent directly to the USPS Contracting Officer (paige.a.farkas2@usps.gov) through July 29, 2022, 10:00 am MST (Denver). To be considered, these responses must be received prior to this listed closing time. All attachments must be in Microsoft Office products formats as specified herein. RFI RESPONSES FORMAT: Vendor response should be single-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, with one-inch margins all around, compatible with MS Office Word Document, with a total page count not to exceed eleven (11) pages (cover page + ten (10) page white paper allotment). Email response (Word Document), including attachments (i.e., Diagrams, Process Flow charts, Pictures), SHALL NOT EXCEED 10 MB. Each page of your package shall be printable on 8 ½ inch x 11 inch paper. Any information submitted by respondents to this request is strictly voluntary and any proprietary information submitted should be clearly marked as such to be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. All submissions to this RFI will not be returned and USPS is under no obligation to provide feedback with respect to any information submitted.
