The National Science Foundation (NSF) is releasing the attached Justification & Approval (J&A) for Other than Full and Open Competition. This J&A concerns extension of the period of performance end date for the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) (#NSFDACS1219442) from 31 March 2025 to 30 September 2026. This action utilizes the contract’s established FAR 52.217-8 provision, which accommodates an extension of eighteen months. This extension was unpriced at original contract award (23 December 2011). This J&A leverages the authority of FAR 6.302-3; “Industrial mobilization; engineering, developmental, or research capability; or expert services”. Consistent with the requirements of FAR 6.305, this J&A is being made publicly available. All costs associated with responding to this justification will be solely at the interested party’s expense and any information provided in response to this justification is purely voluntary. Not responding to this justification does not preclude participation in any future competition or participation in future subcontract opportunities which may arise with NSF.
