The National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) is one of thirteen federal statistical agencies in the United States. As part of its core activities, NCSES is responsible for collecting data on the science and engineering (S&E) enterprise, which includes education, workforce, and research and development (R&D). As one of the thirteen federal agencies, NCSES strives to meet the guidelines set "Principles and Practices for a Federal Statistical Agency". One such principal is to establish and maintain trust between the center and our data providers. A key aspect of such trust is to protect the identities of our respondents from intruders who wish to use our data for nefarious purposes. The facet of security that is addressed by this task order pertains to the security of NCSES data systems. NCSES seeks a contractor that will provide both project management and technical support for reviewing, assessing, and documenting the security of NCSES's data systems.
