REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR LUNAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PAYLOADS FOR EXPANDED LUNAR LANDING OPPORTUNITIES
NASA is seeking information on potential science and technology payloads for its Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative, which aims to achieve near-monthly lunar landings starting in 2027. The agency is particularly interested in self-funded payload teams that can deliver completed flight units and operate them on the lunar surface. If selected, NASA will cover the costs for launch, landing, and surface mobility, with CLPS partners providing integration and services like power and communications. This RFI is open to respondents worldwide, including industry, academia, and foreign entities, though responses are subject to U.S. government restrictions on bilateral relationships with China. Information from opted-in responses may be shared publicly via a Lunar Payload Database to foster connections in the lunar economy.
