NASA AFRC has a requirement to extend the current Engineering Technical Support Services (ETSS) Task Order for a total of 6 months with one 2-month option and four 1-month options. NASA AFRC intends to issue a sole source task order extensions to acquire the existing ETSS services from New Horizons Aeronautics, LLC and Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. The government expects substantial duplication of cost that is not expected to be recovered through competition since the task orders were already competed and the most capable offeror were awarded the contract. Furthermore, there is ongoing effort to recompete the new task order. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. At this time, the government is not seeking potential offerors for these services as there is already ongoing effort to award a new contract. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at : https://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/procurement/regs/Procurement-Ombuds-Comp-Advocate-Listing.pdf
