This purchase is to further expand the existing Aitech software development, integration, and verification lab for the Gateway Government Furnished Equipment Flight Software teams. The lab was created in 2019 when the Gateway program was established and has continued to grow over the past five (5) years. Over 85 NASA software engineers utilize this lab for the development, integration, and verification of critical flight software for the Gateway Program. The lab must have flight equivalent hardware to ensure that the developed software is compatible with the on-orbit architecture. The Gateway program has selected the Aitech SP0-S as the flight processor for several critical systems on the Gateway vehicle. Over the past four years, the ACSSL has been built around this critical hardware, and due to growth in scope and personnel, additional units are required to support the demands of usage. Identical units are required for the software development labs to ensure the developed systems meet the functional and performance requirements of the program (“test like you fly” requirements).
