Delivery Address: NASA/Glenn Research Center 21000 Brookpark Road Cleveland OH 44135-3127 Statement of Work/Requirements: A linear actuator system that will be moving a piece of hardware that weighs approximately 7kg. The system needs to have the capability of moving in two directions (which likely requires two separate actuators). The actuators must be able to have the following: • Net travel of >500mm in the ‘horizontal’ X direction • Net travel of >250mm in the ‘vertical’ or Z direction • Linear speed needs to be >375mm/s • Capability for operation in a dusty environment (vacuum thermal spray facility) • Capability for operation in pressures below 1 torr • Entire actuator assembly weight less than 15kg In addition to the actuators, a control system needs to be provided and connected to the actuators that will allow for programming and axis control of the following: • Delays between each of the moves • X & Z move to specified start position • X extend specified distance at specified speed • Z index down specified distance and hold • X retract specified distance at specified speed • Z index up specified distance and hold • Repeat from step 1 for the selected number of cycles. • X & Z retract to home If purchasing from a second party, the warranty on the parts/system must transfer.
