The system will be delivered to MSFC Building 4475 and installed in one of two hot cells used for radioactive materials work. The agency intends to issue a sole-source contract to Instron (Illinois Tool Works Inc.), citing compatibility with existing equipment and the Instron AT3's unique combination of 300 kN capacity, automation, and roughly 5×7 ft footprint.
