NASA/MSFC has a requirement for an Interferometer that will be used to measure large flat optics that are used for space-based telescope alignment and calibration. The Interferometer will need to interface with the existing hardware controller, laser alignment system, beam expander (32” BEX), and other optical bench components. NASA/MSFC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the Interferometer from Zygo Corporation under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Myron Childress at Myron.p.childress@nasa.gov not later than 2:00 p.m. CST on on September 22, 2023. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
