NASA Research Announcement: V-Band

Notice ID:80GRC027R0002

NASA Glenn Research Center is conducting market research for a V-band cross-link mesh network to demonstrate in-space multi-path routing among at least three satellite nodes at data rates relevant to NASA science and Earth remote sensing missions. Capability statements should address dynamic routing, delivery of representative mission data volumes, performance characterization including throughput, latency, link availability, acquisition/tracking, and validation of technical performance, interoperability, reliability, and cybersecurity through analysis, ground demonstrations, and flight demonstrations. Respondents should also assess scalability/extensibility and provide input on small-business subcontracting goals, barriers to small-business participation, and strategies to increase it. NASA seeks responses from all interested parties, including all small-business socioeconomic categories and HBCU/MIs, and vendors may participate as prime, subcontractor, or teaming partner. This notice is for information/planning purposes only, no solicitation currently exists, and any future solicitation would be synopsized on SAM.gov.

NASA Research Announcement: V-Band

Notice ID:80GRC027R0002

NASA Glenn Research Center is seeking information for an in-space demonstration of a V-band cross-link mesh network among at least three satellites, using data rates representative of NASA science and Earth remote sensing missions. Capability statements should address dynamic mesh routing, delivery of representative mission data volumes, performance characterization (throughput, end-to-end latency, link availability, acquisition/tracking), validation of interoperability, reliability, cybersecurity via analysis/ground/flight demonstrations, and scalability/extensibility. NASA seeks responses from all interested parties, including small businesses and HBCU/MIs, to help determine competition and small-business subcontracting/set-aside strategies, with vendors encouraged to participate as prime, subcontractor, or teaming partner. Respondents are asked for input on realistic small-business subcontracting goals, barriers to participation, and strategies to increase participation such as breaking requirements into smaller components, identifying subcontracting areas, and using teaming or mentor-protégé approaches. No solicitation currently exists; if released, it will be synopsized on SAM.gov, and interested firms should monitor that site.
