Intent to Sole Source Description FWM NASA/Glenn Research Center (GRC) has a requirement the use of novel, non-pneumatic, compliant tire technology developed at the NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) known as the Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) Tire. See attached Statement of Work for specifications. NASA/GRC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the testing and related capabilities as outlined in the attached Statement of Work from Fort Wayne Metal Research Products, LLC of Fort Wayne, Indiana under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, s Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Kevin Carroll at kevin.m.carroll@nasa.gov not later than 5:00 EST on December 15, 2024. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
