NASA/Glenn Research Center (GRC) has a requirement for 10kW, 50kr/min Switched Reluctance Generator and Demonstration. This high-speed generator must be compatible with NASA’s nuclear electric propulsion Brayton system for space AND MUST be delivered in NINE (9) MONTHS. See attachment for specifications regarding 10kW, 50kr/min Switched Reluctance Generator Demonstration. NASA/GRC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the item(s) from GE Research, of Niskayuna, NY under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Linda Nabors at linda.m.nabors@nasa.gov not later than 5:00PM EDT on April 14, 2023. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
