MCC requires a contractor who is able to assemble a team of experts familiar with evidence-based interventions that have aimed to improve MSME access to finance and / or business practices. This team must include expertise in the social, cultural, economic, and governance drivers of MSMEs and the value chains within which they operate, and expertise in analyzing financial intermediation failures, and an understanding of effective responses to all of these. The consultant will need to be able to assess and analyze: a) Indonesia-specific research, program evaluation and data related to the issue of MSME finance and potential interventions, b) the corresponding international body of evidence and c) any qualitative or quantitative data collected by their own assessment in order to identify the factors preventing Indonesian MSMEs from growing their revenue or employment and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of financial intermediation for MSMEs in target areas within Indonesia.
