All offerors are encouraged to provide new submissions that cover only the base period. - - - - - - - - This is a combined synopsis/solicitation being issued under FAR Part 13 as a public competition for brand name services. This procurement is for the reinstatement of annual service and ongoing support for the Library’s American Archive of Public Broadcasting (AAPB) project’s SpectraLogic data tape library system. This system comprises the following proprietary SpectraLogic components: One SpectraLogic T120 tape library: serial number 1441501, One LTO-7 data tape drive, and Three LTO-5 data tape drives. Support of the above system must be a brand name procurement provided by either manufacturer SpectraLogic or an authorized third-party SpectraLogic reseller as both the software and equipment are proprietary to the manufacturer. This contract shall be for the duration of one base year with up to four option years. It will update the system equipment, hardware, and software to bring the tape library to peak operational capability to maintain and progress with AAPB activities, including the current project to recover approximately 3 PB of data contained on 3000 LTO3 data tapes and database server provided by PBS (“PBS LTO3 project”) under the 1993 PBS collections agreement. This service and support of this equipment lapsed in 2019 but was reinstated in 2022. The SpectraLogic system requires upgrades to the above components to ensure the effective fulfillment of the Library’s mission to preserve and provide access to its vast audiovisual collection and to maintain the integrity of the PBS collections agreement.
