The Library of Congress [“Library”] seeks a museum design firm to design and develop a full suite of new case typicals and display structures [“Casework and Display Systems”] for use in future Library exhibitions. Casework and display components designed under this contract will be used for upcoming exhibitions and are not intended to travel outside the institution. All design work under this contract must meet museum quality design standards, conservation, and security standards as set forth in this solicitation. The new case systems will be high performance, customizable, and allow for a wide scope of personalization, including multiple door opening systems, concealed hinges and the ability to seal or limit air exchange. The final display system will be designed in such a way as to be used in any Library gallery environment. The design process will explore a contemporary design aesthetic and will adhere to museum industry and Library requirements for conservation and security.
