This Limited Sources Justification seeks approval pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.405-6(b), Limiting Sources Items Peculiar to one Manufacturer, an IBM z14 mainframe (IBM Mainframe). The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) uses mainframe hardware to run two mission-critical workloads (Background investigation and Retirement Service applications), and that mainframe hardware requires modernization. This is being procured via eBuy.gov as a GSA IT Schedule 70 procurement. Please see the attached Limited Sources Justification (LSJ).
