DMDC maintains the nation’s largest, most comprehensive central repository of Department of Defense (DoD) Human Resource (HR) Information. The acquisition of enterprise data assets includes large amounts of non-integrated data spread across multiple sources with varying formats, submission frequencies and levels of quality. DMDC utilizes the ServiceNow platform and Cloudera’s Apache Hadoop software framework as enterprise service delivery tools to support the interoperability of the DMDC portfolio with all external systems. These enterprise tools will be modernized in order to be more visible, authoritative, accessible, understandable and interoperable. Modernization requires adopting DoD Net-Centric Data Strategy (NCDS), National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and its implementing instructions, and DoD Instructions 8320.02 and 8320.07 in order to establish repeatable and reusable processes and common technical standards for data exchange and data management. The contractor provides a wide range of IT-related tasks that utilize ServiceNow and Cloudera Apache Hadoop to improve the ability of the DMDC portfolio to interoperate with external systems owned by entities other than DMDC, including other DoD activities, civilian Federal and State agencies, and private entities such as financial institutions. The Contractor provides information technology services to implement, modernize, and maintain the ServiceNow software as a service (SaaS) solution, as well as the Apache Hadoop framework.
