This is a requirement for the latest Selex 2238 Remote Control Status Unit (RCSU) compatible with the Windows-10 operating system. The 2238 is a Selex proprietary RCSU device allowing the end user to remotely monitor and control their Selex and Fernau air traffic navigational aid systems by integrating a fully functional touch screen display system with a remote maintenance capability. Combined with the Remote Status Monitoring System (RSMS) software, the end user can manage their entire network of air traffic navigational aid systems from a single location. The Selex 2238 RCSU is the only RCSU capable of communicating with the end user air traffic navigational aid systems , it's the only RCSU certified to connect to the end user's interface system. The use of another RCSU would mean the ATO process would have to be re-accomplished driving additional costs and delays to the current operating capability. The intended source is Selex ES Inc. Based on information received from the customer the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a).
