Previously, a Limited Source Justification (LSJ) for a single award call order for the supply of various Brand Name Information Technology (IT) products for the of the U.S. Air Force, 363rd ISRW at Langley AFB, VA was approved on August 9, 2023.The LSJ supported the procurement of Items peculiar to specific manufacturers (Brand Name). The open market items were identified only during the evaluation process and were not known at the time that this original LSJ was approved. The required IT products are germane to specific brand names and part numbers. No other like and/or similar products will meet the needs of the requesting activity. It is anticipated the call order was awarded against AVI SPL’s 2GIT BPA # 47QTCA21A002G, ultimate expiration date of March 22, 2026, in accordance with FAR 8.405-6(b)(1) Items peculiar to one manufacturer. An item peculiar to one manufacturer can be a particular brand name, product, or a feature of a product, peculiar to one manufacturer. A brand name item, whether available on one or more schedule contracts, is an item peculiar to one manufacturer. Brand name specifications shall not be used unless the particular brand name, product, or feature is essential to the Government’s requirements, and market research indicates other companies’ similar products, or products lacking the particular feature, do not meet, or cannot be modified to meet, the agency’s needs.
