This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to COMTECH Mobile Datacom Corporation (COMTECH) under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The contractor will provide service support, hardware, software, firmware, and proprietary ground stations to operate and maintain the Army’s Blue Force Tracking-1 (BFT-1) system. COMTECH is the developer of the BFT-1 System’s satellite network and owner of critical intellectual property necessary for operation of the network.
