The DoD SkillBridge program provides the opportunity for transitioning Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. The program helps Service members bridge the gap between the end of their military service and the beginning of their civilian careers. ODASD-FE&T has served as the lead office managing the overall SkillBridge program on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and does so pursuant to Section 1143(e) of Title 10 of the United States Code - Employment Skills Training and DoD Instruction 1322.29 - Job Training, Employment Skills Training, Apprenticeships, and Internships (JTEST-AI) for Eligible Service Members.
