HUD’s OCIO requires contractor support for information systems, primarily Operations and Maintenance, along with Program Management, optional Modernization and Enhancement, optional Decommissioning, and Transition Support for the Office of Single-Family Housing. HUD OCIO oversees and manages most HUD IT functions, with application and systems support currently managed by OCRPM. OCRPM provides IT support to SFH and coordinates technical activities across other OCIO organizations, including Investment Management, Enterprise Architecture, Policy and e-Government, IT Operations, and IT Security. SFH promotes affordable homeownership and refinancing through FHA Single Family mortgage insurance programs, which protect approved lenders against borrower defaults and encourage mortgage financing for eligible homebuyers, including first-time and low-to-moderate-income borrowers.
