The contractor shall provide inspection services for the elevators listed in the attached Equipment Data Sheet for the GSA buildings located above. The contracted elevator inspector is responsible for witnessing and certifying the tests in accordance with the ANSI/ASME A 17 .1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators. Inspection procedures shall be according to the ASME manuals: ANSI/ASME A 17 .2.1, Inspectors' Manual for Electric Elevators, A 17 .2.2, Inspectors' Manual for Hydraulic Elevators, and A17.2.3, Inspectors' Manual for Escalators and Moving Walks, as applicable. The qualified elevator inspector (QEl-1) shall be ASME QEl-1 certified in accordance with the latest ASME's Qualification for Elevator Inspectors Standards. A minimum of 1 O years as an active certified elevator inspector is required for any contract employee who will be performing the ASME A 17 .1 and A 18.1 safety code inspections. The certified elevator inspector must be a current, active status QEl-1 and in good standing with his or her ASME certifying organization. Photocopies of the elevator inspector's current QEl-1 card will be required as well as an up-todate list of client references on all proposed employees' experience and qualifications for the Government's Regional Equipment Specialist's review. The Government will conduct reference checks to determine all professional staff qualifications prior to award. Submit all requested certification documents and employee background information with your proposals. The Government's work request can and will often require the Elevator Inspection firms to provide immediate field response, follow-up code inspections, and re-inspections.
