The General Services Administration (GSA) announces the opportunity to solicit and award for General Construction Contractors with elevator experience to modernized one existing passenger elevators and one freight elevator located in the William M. Steger Federal Building and Courthouse in Tyler, Texas 75702. The modernization of these vertical transportation systems is necessary to comply with existing elevator codes, and the associated American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and life safety requirements. Work will consist of but is not limited to Provide new: AC motor, solid state microprocessor controls, cab, doors, and all associated work to provide two completely new elevators (1) Passenger and (1) Freight. All work performed under this contract shall meet or exceed the latest ASME-A17.1 Elevator Code and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards.
