Project Description The General Services Administration (GSA), Great Lakes Region (Region 5), is seeking interest for Elevator demolition and installation of new elevator and associated equipment. The purpose of this project involves removal, installation and associated construction to the Judges Elevator, at the Seiberling Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, 2 South Main Street Akron, Ohio 44308. This work will include demolition of the existing elevator cart, motor, and controls. Install new elevator cart, motor, and controls including removing and installing new elevator hoistway doors and controls on each level. Two additional openings will be added. First is to reopen an existing elevator entry on the 2nd floor. Second is to cut open a new entry on floor level B3. Additionally, the project will include replacing a double door with new doors and rough-in for a new card reader. At level B4 to remove an existing elevator door and frame and install a hollow metal door and frame for emergency access. The performance period is 135 calendar days upon receipt to Notice to Proceed. The anticipated award is on or about April 2021. The estimated construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code is 238290 with a small business size standard of $32.7 million.
