GSA IT requires nationwide offsite data tape storage and management services to comply with federally mandated data lifecycle retention requirements, to ensure that data can be recovered following a loss, provide data for litigation matters, or support a Continuity of Operations (COOP)/Disaster Recovery (DR) event. GSA requires a single source for this service to ensure: One POC that can be reached 24 x 7, allowing authorized staff to request tape be delivered to any GSA facility. A single management infrastructure and inventory source for GSA’s data tapes. A single source for transporting data tapes between GSA data centers on a regular scheduled basis.
