EPA is conducting a market-research RFI to identify vendors that can sell cordierite powder, a finely ground ceramic mineral of magnesium iron aluminum silicate, with specifications including 1–5 micron off-white powder, bulk density 0.42 g/cm³, melting point 1179–1471°C, and a required mass of 2.5 kg. This is a commercial off-the-shelf product, and no technical specifications or capability statement are required; pricing is not required at this time. Interested vendors, large or small, are encouraged to respond by emailing OARSACO@epa.gov or responding to the notice with contact information and any available technical/material details. Responses are for information only, will not form a binding contract, and the Government will not award a contract based on this RFI or pay costs incurred in responding. Proprietary information should be minimized and clearly marked; telephone queries will not be honored.
