The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), Center for Computational Toxicology & Exposure, Great Lakes Toxicology & Ecology Division, Molecular Indicators Branch located at 26 West Martin L. King Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45268 has a requirement for: Two (2) each CORALL, mRNA-Seq V2 Library Prep Kits with UDI 12 nt Sets A1-A4 (12A-0001-0384), 384 preps. (182.384) Two Lexogen i5 6nt Dual Indexing Add-on Kit (5001-5004), 96 rxn/Index (047.4x96) Four (4) QuantSeq-Pool Sample-Barcoded 3 mRNA-Seq Library Prep Kit Lexogen, Inc., 51 Autumn Pond Park, Greenland, NH, 03840 is the sole source of these kits in the United States. Lexogen is the only company that supplies kits that do not fragment RNA thru proprietary technology. RNA fragmentation produces artifacts and reduces sensitivity, requiring greater replication and thus cost. These kits reduce hands-on time (16 hours vs. 6 hours) and seamless continuation of on-going work. Switching from the Lexogen kits would increase cost, time associated with the daily hands-on work, require significant validation, and comparisons. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 541714 and the business size standard of 1,000 employees. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for this requirement; and is issued for notification purposes only.
