The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 2 intends to issue a purchase order, on a Sole Source basis, to EMD Millipore Corporation for one-year comprehensive service agreement to properly maintain 12 Millipore water treatment systems: (1) Elix 70 (Total Coverage + PM) (2) Milli-Q Advantage A10 (Total Coverage + PM) (3) Milli-Q Advantage A10 (Advanced Coverage + PM) (2) Milli-Q Advantage A10 (PM only) (1) Milli-Q Direct 16 (Total Coverage + PM (1) Milli-Q Direct 8 (Total Coverage + PM) (1) Milli-Q Integral 5 (Total Coverage + PM) (1) Milli-Q Integral 5 (Advanced Coverage + PM) The agreement includes, for each system, at least one preventative maintenance (PM) visit, unlimited/limited troubleshooting/repair visits, components parts, and consumables filtration cartridges, UV lamps, RO membranes, needed for the PM visits. The service agreement is needed to properly maintain the 12 Millipore water treatment systems located in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 2 Laboratory. These units are designed to generate and deliver very high purity water for use in environmental laboratory operations. The EPA has a requirement for the one-year Milli-Q service plan. The service plan is limited to EMD Millipore Corporation because EMD Millipore is the original manufacturer of the water treatment systems. EMD Millipore is the only source that can properly troubleshoot, repair and maintain the water treatment systems. EMD Millipore is the sole manufacture of spare parts and consumables for the water treatment systems. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, any firm believing it capable of meeting EPA's requirements may submit technical documentations to establish the potential of complying with the requirements. Documentation must be submitted to the point of contact within 10 calendar days of the posting of this notice. Information received will normally be considered only for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. A determination not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is within the discretion of the EPA.
