The estimated cost of this procurement is $106,452. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Mayfield Series 2 cranial stabilization tools reduces clamp weight and improved handling for surgeons performing surgical procedures. A simplified release mechanism allows one person to smoothly release the clamp, enabling another team member to focus on safely managing the patient. The I-beam design reduces unintentional movement when positioning or releasing the patient. It also has a closed architecture locking knob. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Market research was conducted by searching GSA Advantage, GSA e-Buy, Google, VA NAC Med Surg Catalog, FPDS and the internet. Integra Lifescience, Inc., is the sole source manufacturer of the Mayfield 2 Series, including all parts and replacements. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b).
