J030--Generator-ATS Maintenance (VA-27-00002745)
The requirement covers preventive and unscheduled maintenance of diesel backup generators and related transformer/ATS equipment at the Edward Hines VA, with PM consumables outlined in Attachment B and a $50,000 unscheduled repair funding CLIN. All generator maintenance occurs on the second Tuesday of each month, with the CMOP critical-line generators (two 600 kW and one 500 kW) serviced from 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM and completed first, while the 1250 kW and 750 kW units may be serviced during normal business hours. Quarterly energized transformer inspections and annual inspection/IR scan work are included; IR scanning of transformer lugs and ATSs is performed while energized before de-energizing maintenance, with repairs handled during the de-energized period. Contractors must include emergency travel and labor in their quote, and the VA furnishes diesel fuel for the generators. Access is not an issue, the service truck can park within 50 ft of the entry door, and previous maintenance reports will be provided after award.
