The VA is currently conducting market research to locate qualified experienced and interested potential sources. Responses will NOT be considered as proposals, nor will any award be incurred by interested parties in responding to this sources sought announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Business or Large Business) relative to NAICS 331529, Other Nonferrous Metal Foundries (except Die-Casting) size standard 500 employees. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the betaSAM website. NCA Contract Service is seeking interested sources (contractors) for a near-future solicitation and procurement for bronze Markers. The chemical composition of the bronze shall conform to the art bronze industry practice for commercial bronze memorials (Minimum of 87% and Max of 89% Copper, Minimum of 4% and Max of 8% Zinc). Appearance, composition and performance shall not vary from the submitted samples. A Certificate of Conformance shall be provided by the contract awardee stating the chemical composition and the testing performed to verify the results submitted which shall be signed by the testing facility. Pigmented Finish Base color shall be memorial industry standard dark brown, as represented by Munsell Color Standard notation: 0.5Y2.49/1.0. The face and sides of the marker shall be coated uniformly with pigmented coating sufficient to obliterate the casting color. Field Texture - The field shall have a deep embossed leather-look cast texture. Protective Coating - The face and sides of the marker shall be coated system, as applied in combination, shall withstand accelerated weather testing for humidity and ultra-violet rays. Letters The style of letters shall be as represented by Drawing A- LNE&OC - 1-3. The faces of the letters, numerals and emblems shall be highlighted bare bronze with corners of the marker buffed and tops The Contractor shall be able to handle a large volume of Flat Bronze Markers for worldwide distribution. An estimated quantity needed for the Base Period is as follows: Bl Flat Bronze Marker 99,999 B6 Flat Bronze Marker, Medal of Honor 5 Tl Old Style Flat Bronze Markers 10 T6 Old Style Flat Bronze Markers, Medal of Honor 10 At this time, no solicitation exists. Therefore, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. The period of performance shall be a 12month base period and four (4) option years to be exercised at the Government's discretion. All work will be performed during the normal work week and shall not take place on Federal Holidays or weekends.
