It contains the remains... The Fort Worden Cemetery is located on the Fort Worden Army Post in Port Townsend, Washington. The cemetery is comprised of 1.3 total acres and are considered improved grounds. It contains the remains of approximately 391 veterans, spouses and dependent children. Fort Worden Cemetery is an open cemetery which means that the cemetery is generally available for first interment requests. Interments are limited as approximately 30 gravesites are available. Majority of interments are expected to be second interments of a spouse and/or dependent child. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, materials and supplies necessary to provide Interment and Grounds Maintenance Services at Fort Worden Cemetery, hereby known as the Cemetery . The physical area of the contract includes the cemetery proper, structures and landscaped grounds, maintenance areas, perimeter landscaped areas, forested lands, and all its landscape elements. A portion of the cemetery may be under renovation by another contractor at any time; and specific grounds maintenance activities may be under separate contract with another vendor.
