Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the construction of a building for storage Iowa City VA Health Care System located at 601 Highway 6 W, Iowa City, IA 52246. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is to provide comprehensive design-build services to provide a new storage building of a slightly larger footprint and upper level of an existing building, approximately 2,000sq ft. The old building will be removed, the foundation repaired, and a new building constructed. The new building will include temperature/humidity control monitoring and controls for long-term storage of PPE, clean supplies, pandemic essentials, and IT equipment. In order to get the total required space, this project will also remove a vestibule from adjacent Building 1 and repair the face of Building 1. ADMINISTRATIVE: The anticipated solicitation will be issued as an RFP in accordance with FAR Part 36.3 Two Phase Design Build Selection Procedures and FAR Part 15 Negotiation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a size standard of $45 million. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in fall 2024. The period of performance is approximately 270 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of construction is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. This notice is not a request for competitive offers.
