Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: Medium size recyclable shipping container to ship prescription medications to veteran patients; 3328 boxes. Total Award Amount: $82,667.52; including a base and 3 option periods. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: This container is the only container that the SWCMOP has tested and evaluated and meets the temperature range required for cold drug ship time. In addition the box dimensions (11 ½ x 9 x 10) is currently what our shipping contract is based on for cost per container and a change to these dimensions could result in an exponential shipping cost increase. It has been proven to be a durable product. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: We tested several types of boxes in the past and none were able to meet the criteria of maintaining core temperature for 48 hours.
