The pill counter must use visual counting using a camera. The pill counter must be able to transferring the counted product (for example through a gated funnel)to a prescrition bottle. In addition, The pill counter must be able to transfer the remainin/excess pills back to stock bottle The pill counter must be able to detect and notify the user if an incorrect and/or damaged product is present during dispensing The pill counter must be able to count pills with obscure shapes and the Ability to count pills of different weight, shape, & dimensions without complex calibration (tablets & capsules) The pill counter must be capable of reading linear and 2D barcodes The pill counter must be able to take tray photos with annotation of date, time, drug name, and quantity dispensed The pill counter must be able to save count images The pill counter must be equiped with the ability to use a Searchable photo history/library and Scan NDCs The pill counter must interface with current VA CMOP Pharmacy Management Software using Wi-Fi and by USB device The pill counter must use automated validation The pill counter must be have the ability to validate other pre-packaged items. The pill counter must be equiped for bi-directional communication interface(s) (to be used to update Production counts as needed) The pill counter display must be 508 compliant (color blind) with number values and color values per the ADA The pill counter would need to include customizable reporting capabilities (include items filled per day, cycle counts, and audit reports) The pill counter will coexist on a pharmacist work station. the pill counter can not be any larger than the specifications below: 12 inches in with by 18 inches in lenght The height of the pill counter camera and screen should not exceed 30 inches The pill counter tray should not exceed 12 inches from the bas of the work station to the pill counting tray The pill counting display must be adjustable to account for users height and positionin on the pharamcist work station.
