The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is conducting market research, not a solicitation, for Ice Machine Cleaning Services at its Minneapolis, MN facility, seeking businesses able to clean and service up to 70 Scotsman, Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, and Follett ice machines. The work is semi-annual, with cleanings required in January and July 2027 under a base period of January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027; services are performed Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm, excluding weekends and federal holidays. The contractor must provide labor and tools, while the VA supplies ice machine cleaner, condensate tablets, water filters, and air filters, and the contractor must follow manufacturer service manuals and lockout/tagout procedures. Contractor personnel must be licensed HVAC/R mechanics with EPA 608 certification and at least two years’ experience, and will need PIV badging, fingerprints, and required training. Information from responses will be used for market research and acquisition strategy, including possible set-asides for SDVOSB, VOSB, and other small-business socioeconomic categories.
