On December 5, 2020, the 116th Congress passed Public Law 116-214, The Veterans Comprehensive Prevention, Access to Care, and Treatment Act of 2020 (COMPACT Act). This law in part was created to make certain improvements relating to the transition of individuals to services from the Department of Veterans Affairs, suicide prevention for Veterans, and services for women. In accordance with recommendations from the VA Law Enforcement Training Center, it is the intent for VISN 23 Police Service provide VISN 23 Facilities Contracted Crisis Intervention Training for their Police Officers.
