STATEMENT OF WORK General Equipment Name: Patient Beds w/Restraints Description & Salient Characteristics Brand Name or Equal for Ryno Hospital Beds and Taurus Mattresses The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this statement of work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. Iowa City VA Health Care System needs 13 patient beds to be used in the Psychiatric Ward. The beds must have the following specifications: A twin bed sized is a solid, one-piece bed that is tapered at the base to allow for hoyer lift to be utilitized which increases staff and patient safety The frame must be a single-piece construction to create a strong, stable and durable frame; thus, eliminating any removable frame parts that may be used as a weapon or self-harm. The frame must have a minimum of 250 lb. weight capacity. The frame must be at least 18” in height, 82” wide, and no longer then 85”. Must be able to be fastened to the floor. Restraint brackets are removable for patient safety; once brackets are removed the remaining portion is flush with side of bed. Bed is able to be fixed to the floor.
