The Government has a requirement a Semi-Automatic Stretch Wrap Machine with Scale and Ramp for the Minneapolis VAMC, Minneapolis, MN. The Government intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for the purchase of these items. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR PRICING AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Responses to this RFI will be treated only as information for the Government to consider as part of their market research efforts. The information provided will be used by the Government in developing its acquisition strategy regarding possible set aside for Veteran Owned and other socio-economic categories of small business. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI and parties responding will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs incurred in responding to this RFI. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 333993, Packaging Machinery Manufacturing - with a SBA Small Business Size Standard of 600 employees. PSC is 3540, Wrapping and Packaging Machinery. Your response must address capabilities specific to the services required in the below Description of Work, in addition to all other information required below. 1. Please identify any of your firm s existing contract vehicles (e.g., GSA federal supply schedules) which provide commodities similar to those described in the Description & Salient Characteristics. 2. Please provide all social-economic categories of your firm (e.g., SDVOSB, VOSB, WOSB, Large Business, 8a, etc.) as well as your firm s SAM Unique Entity ID number (replaces DUNS number) and Government Contract POC. Point of Contact: Mark Chase (TAG), Contract Specialist: mark.chase1@va.gov Description & Salient Characteristics Ø Shall include a built-in scale Ø Shall wrap up to 20 loads per hour or more Ø Shall have operator walk-away capability (machine knows when to stop wrapping) Ø Shall have low profile turn table (no higher than 4.5 inches) Ø Shall have two or more wrap modes. Ø Shall have adjustable stretching ability Ø Easy to read trouble shooting screen Ø Shall wrap up to 110 inches in height Ø Shall only require maintenance and re-calibration one time per year. Ø Shall work with clear or red film. Ø Ramp Shall hold up to 4000 lbs. Ø Ability to automatically read height of package. Ø Film Carriage shall move up and down and the turn table spins the pallet, due to safety in the warehouse an arm moving around the pallet is unacceptable. Ø Shall have the ability to manually operate if necessary Ø Due to limited space equipment Shall fit within confined restricted space within MVAHCS logistics building 223 (TBD).
