Total Estimated Cost: $20,000.00 Item # Description/Part Number* Qty 1 08124213001 DETECTION UNIT Z480 FW1.8.4 AND HIGHER (Emergency Repair/Replace Flat Rate) 1 Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Limited market research was performed. Roche Diagnostics was the only vendor identified who can provide the required parts and preform the required maintenance on this equipment because only a certified Roche Diagnostics technician is allowed to service Roche Diagnostic equipment. This system is highly proprietary and requires service from the OEM. Since this is disrupting workflow in the Clinical Laboratory, an urgent and compelling need exists to perform emergency repair/replace on this equipment. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: To find parts, the VIP website was searched, as well as the GSA Advantage!, Google, and MedPDB websites. After speaking with the Roche Diagnostics Senior Field Engineering Specialist, it has been determined that the needed part/parts are only available for purchase through the OEM and only a certified Roche Diagnostics technician is allowed to service this equipment.
