DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL PHYSICS SERVICES This is a sources sought notice only and it is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain knowledge of qualified, potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 541380 Testing Laboratories and Services. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After a review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be posted. A response to this sources sought notice is not an adequate reply to a potentially forthcoming solicitation. The Sioux Falls VA Health Care System locations 2501 West 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57105, and 380 West Anchor Drive, Dakota Dunes, SD 57049, are seeking qualified potential contractors to provide Diagnostic Medical Physics Services. The services consist of all labor, material, supplies, equipment, and qualified personnel to provide on-site diagnostic medical physics services and must adhere to VHA Directive 1105.04 Fluoroscopy Safety, VHA Directive 1129 Radiation Protection for Machine Sources of Ionizing Radiation and VHA Directive 1105.05 Magnetic Resonance Safety. The Contractor shall comply with radiation protection standards in 29 CFR 1910.1096. The services may include the following: 1 Nuclear Medicine Department camera physics testing 2 Evaluation and testing of thyroid uptake and counting system 3 Leak testing of sealed sources 4 Wipe Sampling and survey meter measurements in Nuclear Medicine 5 Review of Nuclear Medicine daily reports and floods 6 Submission of Nuclear Medicine summary report of findings and recommendations 7 Validate nuclear medicine's dose calibrator/well QC 8 Review of nuclear medicine doses 9 Imaging Services protocol review (All modalities) 10 Review of Research Department daily reports and quality control 11 Radiographic and Fluoroscopy physics testing 12 Fluoroscopy Credentialing Training/Review 13 Periodic review of Fluoroscopy Doses 14 CT units annual radiation protection survey and dose calculation 15 Review and report of CT optimization program and quality assurance program 16 Periodic review of CT Doses 17 MRI annual inspection survey 18 Ultrasound annual inspection survey 19 Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiographic (DR) Annual Radiation protection surveys 20 Dental Services annual radiation protection surveys and dose calculation 21 Dental Services Training and Procedures 22 Radiation Safety Committee Member 23 Annual display monitor inspection 24 Review of imaging services QA Programs 25 Full inspection of new and repaired imaging services equipment 26 Conduct structural shielding design and calculation reports 27 Conduct radiation protection surveys to verify shielding adequacy 28 Present for any accreditation inspections 29 Dosimetry review for programs involving ionizing radiation 30 Bone Density Annual Radiation protection survey and calculate doses 31 Review and report on scattered radiation test for DEXA and quality assurance program To respond to this sources sought notice, please complete the attached form titled Response Form to Sources Sought Notice and email the information requested to Angela Stewart, Contracting Officer, at angela.stewart438@va.gov.
