The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain knowledge of qualified potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 562111. NAICS Code 562111 - Solid Waste Collection. This U.S. industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in one or more of the following: (1) collecting and/or hauling nonhazardous solid waste (i.e., garbage) within a local area; (2) operating nonhazardous solid waste transfer stations; and (3) collecting and/or hauling mixed recyclable materials within a local area. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. See the statement of work excerpt below. SCOPE OF WORK Data below is an excerpt form the statement of work. The Veterans Affairs Central Iowa Health Care System (VA-CIHCS) has a requirement for full service Solid Waste Disposal (trash, metal and appliance, wood and pallet, yard waste) and Recycling (single stream: glass, #1-7 plastic, tin, aluminum, cardboard, mix fiber papers) services on the main campus located at (3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA). All waste and recyclables will be transported and disposed of or recycled in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulation. There will be a combination of scheduled demand services for designated locations for solid waste and recycling, as well as on-demand roll off services for (solid waste, metal and appliance, wood and pallet, and yard waste) as required. The vendor will provide everything required for full-service to include but not limited to: receptacles for collection of waste and recyclables for scheduled and on-demand removal services, transportation to disposal and recovery sites, disposal fees, and administrative costs.
