Sources Sought- Robotic Milling System Notice Type: Sources Sought This is a Request for Information (RFI) only; it is not a request for quotations or offers. 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although proposal and offeror are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of conducting market research to identify potential sources for a potential procurement for Robotic Milling System for the Minneapolis VA Health Care System The Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System (MVAHCS) has a need to replace its current carver. The Department for Veterans Affairs is looking to procure equipment to manufacture patient specific sockets and custom orthoses. The Orthotics and Prosthetic Lab requires equipment to manufacture patient specific sockets and custom orthoses. The equipment shall have the ability to carve a variety of materials and have 7 axes of freedom to allow for carving of ankle foot orthoses. The equipment shall come with CAD software and a Laptop capable of converting 3D scanned files into positive or negative models and not require the need for hand casting. Robotic Milling System must meet the following salient characteristics: Robot Carver 7-axis (6-axis robot, 1-axis turntable) Self-containing cabinet Footprint not to exceed: 4.6 Ft (W) x 6 Ft (L) x 9 Ft (H) remote control capability w/ internet connection Ability to carve 20+ models per day Ability to carve: AFO, KO, KAFO, BK, AK, TLSO Ability to carve polyurethane, foam rubber, plaster, EVA, cork Laptop Computer Processor: Intel Core C20i7 RAM: 16GB RAM or higher Video/Graphics card: NVIDIA GE-Force or Quadro w/2GB of dedicated RAM OS: Windows 10 64 bit or higher 5 GB Free space on the Hard Drive Software Open source 3D CAD Software Accepts files: STL, AOP, VRML Please address the following in your responses: Point of contact, DUNS Number, complete mailing address, telephone number, and email address. Confirmation the product being proposed is not gray market or counterfeit in accordance with Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation Clause 852.212-72 (See attached). This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation. This is not a request for proposal (RFP).
