Statement of Work (SOW): Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) Inspection & Maintenance 1. VA Fort Meade VA Medical Center has a requirement for the inspection and maintenance testing for three (3) UPS s. This requirement is for a base plus four (4) option years. The Contractor shall provide all, labor, material and travel to comply with the requirements of this SOW. Furnish on-call emergency technical support, twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. 2. The contractor shall provide multi-year semi-annual Maintenance and Inspection service for three (3) UPS s located at Fort Meade VA Medical Center: Toshiba T42-800017EN-VC serial number; 4001013UE05155 Building 145 Room 139B Emerson 710 NPBA serial number; ENES 11000075 Building 145 Room 137C APC SYCF40KF serial number; PD1108160015 Building 113 Room B29 3. The Contractor shall perform preventive maintenance service semi-annually to include general inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment of the computer support equipment and battery testing as follows: Provide maintenance material, tools, documentation, diagnostics and test equipment necessary for the maintenance services. Provide battery, fan and capacitor recycling per EPA requirements, 40 CFR Parts 260-265 and 273. The contractor will coordinate with the COR prior to performing service that requires shutting down the entire system. Preventative Maintenance shall consist of: Inspect the appearance and cleanliness of the battery and the battery room. Clean normal jar top dirt accumulation (to be done only with battery offline). Measure and record the total battery float voltage and changing current. Measure and record the overall AC ripple voltage. Measure and record the overall AC ripple current. Visually inspect the jars and covers for cracks and leakage. Visually inspect for evidence of corrosion. Measure and record the ambient temperature. Verify the integrity of the battery rack/cabinet. Measure and record 100% of the jar temperatures. Measure and record the float voltage of all cells. Measure and record all internal ohmic readings. Provide a detailed written report noting any deficiencies and corrective action needed, taken and/or planned. Verify approval for battery life program. Re-tighten all battery connections to the battery manufacturer's required specifications if necessary. Measure and record all battery connection resistances in micro-ohms, when applicable. Refurbish battery cell connections as required. Provide a detailed report of semi-annual service, including: Date service was performed Description of all service performed Battery testing and diagnostics data Provide details of faults and deficiencies with corrective action taken or planned 4. Preventative Maintenance and Inspection / Component Replacement Schedule Base year : One preventative maintenance inspection for all three UPSes. Option year one: Two preventative maintenance inspections, replace batteries, fans and fuses for all three UPSes. Option year two: Two preventative maintenance inspections. Option year three: Two preventative maintenance inspections, replace capacitors on all three UPS s. Option year four: Two preventative maintenance inspections, replace batteries, fans and fuses for all three UPS s.
