Page 2 of 2 The purpose of this Amendment is to correct the NAICS Code to 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and change the response date to January 22, 2020, 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE This is a Notice of Intent published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions. This Notice of Intent is for a proposed award of a sole source, firm-fixed price contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23, intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Barrier Free Lifts, Inc., dba Horcher Lifting Systems, to provide all-inclusive Annual Testing, Inspection, and Repairs of Barrier Free Lifts installed at the Central Iowa VA Health Care System, Des Moines, Iowa, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310. Barrier Free Lifts, Inc., dba Horcher Lifting Systems, is the original equipment manufacturer and is the only known firm having the capability to provide Level 1 repair services to the installed Barrier Lifts at the Des Moines VA Health Care System (VAHCS). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a small business size standard of $22.0 million. The service code is J065, Maint/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment-Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement by submitting supporting documentation including an Authorized Dealer/Distributor letter and capabilities statement specifically attesting to the capability to provide authorized repairs to Barrier Free Lifts. Such documentation will be reviewed solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct the procurement on a competitive basis. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
