The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for a potential Hazardous Waste Disposal Services contract supporting the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), including collection, characterization, packaging, transportation, treatment, storage, disposal, sampling, regulatory reporting, training, and emergency spill response. The contemplated contract would consist of a base period from November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2027, plus four option periods extending through October 31, 2031, with final contract type and acquisition strategy to be determined after market research. Services would cover various hazardous, universal, pharmaceutical, chemotherapy, mixed, and special medical waste streams collected from clinical and pharmacy locations throughout SAVAHCS. Interested firms should demonstrate capabilities in hazardous waste management, environmental sampling and analytical services, regulatory compliance with EPA/DOT/OSHA/RCRA and VA requirements, training, and emergency spill response with on-site response within four hours of Government notification. The Government is considering NAICS 562211 and will use responses to assess qualified sources, potential set-aside or small business participation, and the appropriate procurement strategy for a future competitive procurement.
